What I was trying to solve
Ever found yourself on the hunt for an eco-friendly cafe, or perhaps you never knew they existed?! This is EcoEats, an app designed to connect people with sustainable and eco-friendly cafes on their doorstep.
With greenwashing and waste management becoming more prominent, people are finding it increasingly hard to find eco-friendly options that align with their personal morals and values.
The goal of this project was to create an app addressing a sustainability-related challenge: I created an app providing users with an opportunity to enhance their environmental impact whilst enjoying a coffee with friends, guilt-free. The project was structured into three key phases: research, prototyping and product demonstration.

Understanding the problem
Problem Domain Exploration: As part of this I conducted in-depth analysis of articles on responsible consumption and productions. Statistical insights, particularly around the prevalence of greenwashing shaped the research direction and highlighted what users need to trust a cafe's eco-credentials.
User & Expert Interviews Insights surfaced gave a deeper insights into systemic issues. The problem isn't a lack of information, it's about making that information genuinely accessible and actionable for everyday use.
From the research I created personas to ground design decisions, explored the competitive landscape to find the gaps and crafted a value proposition that differentiated EcoEats from existing solutions.

Bringing it to life
PROTOTYPING & PRODUCT DEMO
The prototyping phase involved a sandbox exploration and experimentation. Working from low to mid-fidelity wireframes laid the foundation, before moving into high-fidelity screens where the designs really came to life.
User testing gave me positive feedback, with users praising the app's ease of use, straightforward navigation and clear UI.
With my previous skills in Adobe After Effects, I created a demo video of the app. It communicated the app's aim and purpose, showing the full user journey.
